Support

Connect your comma device

  1. Put your iPhone or iPad on the same Wi-Fi network as your comma device.
  2. On the comma device, enable SSH and set the GitHub username it should trust for authorized keys.
  3. In Annex B, open Devices and generate a key. Add the public key it shows to that GitHub account, then enter the comma's local address.
  4. Connect and check the host-key fingerprint the device presents. Annex B pins it — if the key ever changes, connections are blocked until you work out why.
Want to see the workflow before touching SSH settings? The built-in Sample Drives walk the whole flow — browse, download, stitch, save — with synthetic footage. They're in Library on first launch, or under Settings → Drive Source if a device is already connected.

What Annex B does

Annex B browses your front road-camera recordings and builds thumbnails, then downloads segments with resume support and stitches a complete drive into a single video. You can keep the original HEVC (remuxed to MP4) or convert to H.264 for wider compatibility, watch the result in the app, and save it to Photos with add-only access. Anything in progress can be cancelled.

Troubleshooting

Connection fails

Check the basics in order: SSH is enabled on the comma, the local address you entered is reachable, the GitHub username on the device is correct, and the public key from Annex B's Devices screen is actually on that GitHub account.

Host key changed

Treat this as a stop sign, not a nuisance — find out why the device's SSH identity changed. Only use Forget Pinned Key if you personally re-flashed or replaced the device and expected the change.

Video will not share

Switch to Compatibility (H.264) in Settings, make sure your iPhone or iPad has enough free storage, and grant Photos add-only access when prompted.
